Our Team & Philosophy
The common thread through everything our practice does is our founder’s saying, "The story always wins". The story you believe about yourself and what you deserve is what will manifest. That narrative will run your life until you dismantle it, and rewrite it. Our approach is to help you figure out where you learned these things, and discard the things that cause you pain or are no longer productive. We believe, when people are asked the right questions and given the space to be heard, they can find their own answers.
We have an agreement with everyone we see: Our sessions are confidential, we will be honest with each other, and although we are free to say anything we want to each other, we won't disrespect each other. We think those things have to be in place so that our relationship provides a foundation to do hard work.
Specializations
SHAME & WORTHINESS
Feelings of shame & disconnection? Struggling with perfectionism? Fear of failure? We use elements of Brene' Brown's work & some counselors are certified in her Daring Way™ program to address these issues (Certified Daring Way Facilitator- CDWF). This can be helpful in building changing perspectives on vulnerability, and working towards being more authentic.
TRAUMA & ABUSE
All counselors are trained in trauma resolution/ recovery work, and some are also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy that can treat trauma. Many are also trained in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method™ (TCYM), which encourages mind/ body reconnection, and two of us are also Registered Yoga Teachers. People tend to find this helpful if they have trouble staying grounded, or want to become more comfortable in their bodies and sitting with their emotions.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Most of our clinicians have years of experience in substance use treatment. We see clients after they complete inpatient care, those in long- term recovery, or those that are sober curious. We also work with family members of those actively abusing substances, or in recovery. We also have staff able to conduct DOT assessments as a QSAP for return- to- duty requirements of Department of Transportation.
MAJOR LIFE ADJUSTMENTS
We can help with dealing with current life changes, or the aftermath of major adjustments. This could be geographic moves, divorce, graduation, death, career changes, etc. Seeking therapy for adjusting to big changes can be helpful for processing and validating emotions, and getting objective outside feedback.
